The third stage of the 2009 Amgen Tour of California proved
to be a charm for the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team
presented by Cooking Light. Despite the continued rain and
cold, Sebastian Haedo took his place among the world’s top
sprinters with a 7th place finish in the field sprint in the
104.2 mile stage from San Jose to Modesto. Colavita/Sutter
Home’s Luis Amaran maintains his position in the top third
of the overall ranking among the best cyclists in the world
(#33), less than one second behind Floyd Landis (Team OUCH)
and Christian Vandevelde (Garmin-Slipstream).
Thanks to the tremendous team effort, Colavita/Sutter Home
is now #1 among the UCI Continental squads and 8th out of 17
in the overall team ranking. Racing continues today with the
115.4-mile Stage 4 race from Merced to Clovis, which includes
four KOM competitions over hilly and technical terrain.
